Congratulations to the newly engaged couples or soon-to-be engaged couples! A wedding is an important event that dedicates your life as a married couple.

As you
e planning your dream wedding, you have many decisions to make. But while you
e planning for one day, you
e planning on being married for a lifetime. So, make sure you
e investing in each other during this planning process.

Tips:

  • Get Pre-marital Counseling: Ask your minister or whoever is marrying you to provide counseling. No matter how long youve dated, you are always learning new things about each other. Counseling can help you consider important issues to discuss before you tie the knot such as financial habits, spiritual beliefs, and family goals.
  • Go on Dates: Wedding planning can feel like a full-time job, especially as you visit venues and other vendors, make a guest list, and send out invitations that you spend all your time on wedding issues. Make sure you set aside time for fun dates that don involve wedding planning. Consider vowing to not discuss wedding plans or at least keep those issues to a minimum on these dates. Use this time to connect and enjoy one another.
  • Stay Accountable: No matter how many resolutions you make to enjoy wedding planning, it can still get hectic especially as the wedding day draws near. Keep each other accountable to enjoy the process and to make sure you stay connected. Also, ask your wedding planner, bridesmaids, close friends, and/or family members to keep you on track with enjoying the process. Your wedding is one day, while your relationships are for a lifetime!
  • Seek Advice: While you
e planning, youll be in contact with married friends, family members, the minister, planners, and vendors. Discover who has a successful marriage, then ask questions about how they keep the romance alive and maintain the connection. You can incorporate these questions into the planning process that can reap a harvest way beyond the wedding!

If you have any tips about maintaining the connection and investing in the relationship while planning for the wedding, please share in Comments below. Thank you!
